Is it time to consider a partnership?
Smaller nonprofits play a crucial role in our communities. They respond to local needs, involve community members in solutions, and innovate in ways that larger nonprofits may struggle to achieve. They are fueled by dedication and purpose, and their impact is mighty.
Being smaller also presents unique challenges. Some organizations reach a point where they question their long-term sustainability. For others, as they look to hire staff, expand services, and build infrastructure, finding the resources and capacity for growth can present a roadblock.
In either case, an important question may arise: Is it better to continue working alone, or could partnering with another nonprofit enable sustainability, growth, and greater impact?
Exploring the Purposes and Types of Nonprofit Strategic Alliances
Strategic alliances are ways nonprofits join forces to advance their missions. They come in many forms, from loose coordination to formal collaborations to joint structures and mergers—Knowing which type to pick starts with knowing your individual and shared purposes.
Join Fio Partners for a full-day learning experience tailored for smaller nonprofits* who want to explore the purposes and types of strategic alliances. Leave with an understanding of when and why you might consider a partnership, tools to help you assess your contexts and options, and guidance around how to navigate the process.
